Sharon Sands is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ London office and a member of the global leadership team for consulting as head of the Leadership Development, Leadership Assessment, and Coaching practices. She has led the design teams and managed some of the firm’s largest global leadership performance and assessment programs and pioneered a first-to-market AI-led digital assessment focused on leadership agility. Sharon leads the firm’s approach and methodology for CEO succession and acceleration.

Experience

With more than 20 years of experience as a leadership consultant and executive coach, and a deep understanding of behavioral complexity in organizational systems, Sharon helps leaders shape their organizations and accelerate performance. Her work reflects a commitment to leadership development that empowers individuals to perform at their full potential and fosters environments where others can thrive.

Sharon is a member of the CEO & Board of Directors Practice and supports CEO transition and acceleration. Her team defines and designs solutions that enable clients to future-proof their strategies through effective leadership. She is a trusted advisor to the C-suite, having personally led high-profile and often complex CEO succession engagements globally, including transition coaching to accelerate time to value and top team effectiveness.

Sharon started her career in engineering before leading talent development for a global manufacturing and luxury automotive franchise business. She founded and grew a successful talent development business for 10 years, which was acquired by Heidrick & Struggles.

Sharon is a member of the firm’s Leadership Assurance team, which is dedicated to exploring and advancing new ideas on organizational governance and leadership. The team supports clients and colleagues in leading the market on emerging trends and developing innovative strategies for long-term success.

She has recently been selected as a contributing author to the Forbes Human Resources Council.
